I had long been planning to get to the David Hockney exhibition at Tate Britain and it certainly didn't disappoint. Hockney has always been one of my greatest Artist inspirations for my design work. His use of colour and style really inspires my thoughts and approach.

The exhibition at Tate Britain celebrates the extensive 60 years of work of Hockney.
' This exhibition, a survey of almost sixty years of Hockney's art, offers the first opportunity to see those classic early paintings alongside subsequent work in a variety of media. It spans from paintings made as a student in London through 1960's Los Angeles, the reorientation of his practice in painting and photography in the 1980's, a decade of Yorkshire landscapes, and on to the newest works made since his return to California in 2013'.
Aside from the iconic works such as 'A Bigger Splash', my favourite paintings were those created most recently (above and bottom). The use of colour combinations and mark making strikes a chord with my style. I think it's testament to Hockney that now in his 80's, his latest work is still so fresh, vibrant and relevant. Long may you continue to inspire and create David Hockney!
