Having relocated back to Somerset after 10 years in Hampshire, I have enjoyed rediscovering some of the fabulous delights Bath has to offer. On a beautifully sunny Sunday morning, Society Café was top on my list to visit for a tea and croissant pit stop. It was buzzing with families and friends, with a lovely welcoming atmosphere and great smell of freshly brewed coffee. The decor is quirky (note the bike in the middle of the wall!) with an industrial cool edge. Our table had a laser cut map of Bath to admire along with a selection of cool magazines and coffee table books to flick through.
Society Café are also getting involved with Bath Art College, local schools and individuals working with them to create a unique space where creatives can display their work – some are even going to be carrying out their work on site. Currently Artwork by Elliot Kendryna is being exhibited.
Society Café is lucky enough to have a fabulous setting on Kingsmead Square where the timeless pleasure of people-watching can be indulged or you can get cosy in the quirky basement and settle in to working on your laptop. It caters for everyone and that is key to their 'Society' approach - individuals creating their own sense of community a kind of ‘friendly association’ where everyone is welcome is the idea behind it.
Check out Society Café on Kingsmead Square for perfectly prepared coffee, exquisite tea and delicious cakes and pastries. If you feel like it, you could also feed your mind - art house books and magazines, exhibitions. Check out more on their website here http://www.society-cafe.com/
